Joke of the Day

What's the difference between a Steeler and a catholic school boy?

Nothing, they're both gonna get screwed by a Cardinal this Sunday!

"Anyone want to see Nelly? 20 Bucks!!!!:

Greetings Gang,

Sorry it's been a full day since posting...but between the activities and headache from last night's tomfoolery, I'm fortunate to be functioning at all....

Note to self: I hate big pimped out PR fueled events, like last night's Coors Light Nelly Party...in theory it was going to be AWESOME....celebrities, free Coors Light and a rap concert....so you could guess the level of anticipation taking the cab to the Hard Rock...and then just like when the Bengals take the field and start playing, harsh reality sets in....

We were fine even when our cab driver from some country (not the US and not one where English is the first language) got lost and sat on a dead end road for two minutes having to defrost the back window to back up but then getting to the Hard Rock we started fully understanding the situation....the line was about 300 people long which it definitely didn't need to be...it was one of those, there's plenty of room inside but if we keep people outside then our party is COOL...AND THEN there was a "Camera check" so even if we got in I wouldn't have been able to take AWESOME pictures...so we did the only thing we know how to do and took the party with us...to Margitaville.

Numerous whiskey shots (not Evan Williams) and Landsharks later we settled in for some second rate Buffett impersonators and had a good ol' time....

Sorry readers, i'm sure this is disappointing...but bumping into the Snapple lady from those old commercials at the Orlando "World of Bowling" in the afternoon made up for it....!!!  BTW, there's a reason Pops is the best bowler in his league back home, he was scoring in the 170's todays, and had a Turkey in each game in the 2 game series...and unfortunate for him had to take the consequence of a Wild Turkey double shot after each!!  Without those, he would have been in the 200's for sure...

So after a relaxing dinner at the Golden Corral, we're gearing up for tomorrow's action...i'll send you as many updates as I can.....

Oh, and tomorrow I have decided to go as the "Anti-Steelers fan"= Combination of Cardinals and Bengals flair for the game....like Hector going to battle Achilles in the movie Troy, I'll say a prayer and head into battle against a seemingly unbeatable adversary who only has one weakness, they're ASSHOLES ....

Bengals Dave updated Line- I'm really starting to get sick of Steelers fans....Cardinals by Infinity plus one.

Random Bengals/Cincinnati trivia:  Did you know the Bengals will make another return trip to the Meadowlands next season to battle the Jets...just like they say, Bengals Jesus will rise again!

Del's White Castle Recipe

Flashback to last night....

Visiting a close family friend last evening down in Venice, FL we had an awesome time having dinner at my favorite FL restaurants, Luna's, and a few beers at one of my favorite FL sports bars (Bogey's)....After a personal record 5 beers consumed (2 Coors Lights, 1 Budweiser, 1 Bud Light, and 1 BitBurger) my father (about as big a drinker as Pittsburgh NT Casey Hampton is an athlete) he began to divulge the recipe for his world famous White Castle Casserole....Yes, the fact that the White Castle Casserole is one of our family favorites probably says a whole lot about us....
BUT it is good, especially after a few too many (just like White Castles)...

And the kicker is that it's served for breakfast...the next BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS...Champions of what?  Probably idiot SuperFan competitions!

so after close negotiation...it is ready for public consumption...here you go, complements of the man himself..

1.  Need a casserole dish
2. Take frozen or fresh white castles
3. If fresh, remove pickle...if like pickles, then eat said pickle
4. Cut each Castle in quarters
5. Put 'em in the Casserole dish
6. Take Egg Beaters, pour over Castles, dice half green and red pepper, sprinkle peppers over glorious mixture
7. Put in fridge overnight or for 3+ hours
8. put in oven (350 degrees for 30 minutes)
9. After 30 minutes, cover with monterrey or cheddar cheese
10. Then Bake until "Carson Palmer" GOLDEN ARM Brown...
11. ENJOY
12. THANK US LATER

(Hot sauce optional)

Bengals Dave Spots First Cardinals Fan

Salutations faithful Urban Tailgate brethren,It's official...at 3:46 p.m. ET after searching since 5 p.m. yesterday, we spotted our first Cardinals fans here in Orlando:) Seriously, I worry that there may be some sort of quarantine in the greater Phoenix area...Pops and I played a fun game of counting the number of Steelers and Cards fans here ....we counted over 40 Steelers fans (which amounted to 38 dirty looks- guess a couple of their kids haven't been brainwashed yet and liked my stripes:) I was also approached by a lovely couple (in plainclothes) from the Cincinnati area...the husband (in a hushed tone) congratulated me on my courage and mentioned that he wished he had worn his jersey....The Cardinals couple were carrying a 6 pack of Miller Lite to their room which is another sign that the Cardinals are now the Bengals "brother team" and will win the Super Bowl ala Rule 1 Section 1 of the Nick Lachey Theorem Nick Lachey Theorem- Rule 1 Section 1- Nick Lachey is the second greatest pop artist of all time (only behind Kelly Clarkson) and always supports the greatest teams (Bengals, Reds, Cincy Bearcats) and his favorite beer is Miller Lite (as evidenced in "Newlyweds". Thus, if a sports fan (outside of the Steelers, Browns, or Blondie's Sports Bar) is drinking Miller Lite they will win (unless they are playing the Bengals.) LOCK TIGHT PICK...On to the action of the day, Pops and I played some Pirate Cove Putt Putt...ORLANDO HAS THE GREATEST PUTT PUTT COURSES EVER...just driving 5 miles away, we saw 3 courses, one of which had a volcano with flames randomly shooting out of it...but we got lured by the Pirate theme (if you know me you're not surpised)...we ended in a tie which of course is fitting given my allegience! I felt like f-ing Donovan McNabb at the end, blindly looking around to play another overtime hole but the damn cup took my orange ball....ERRONEOUS!However, we found a Chick Fil-A on the way home so we're BOTH WINNERS.....They have a new sauce the "Chick Fil-A" sauce which is a mixture of BBQ, Honey Mustard, and Sweet and Sour...WOW!!! What can I say....Happy Fat Man!! Back at the Resort hanging out....btw, the Resort is amazing...check out the view from the balcony! There's 2 steakhouses, 10 overall restaurants, 2 golf courses, shops, 3 pools, and over 500 idiot Pittsburgh fans!!! Come one, come all...i've seen enough Jack Lambert and Big Ben jerseys on 5 foot 8, 300 pound mustached men (and women) to last a lifetimeDamn if I played real golf, I'd be in heaven....which reminds me, UrbanTailgate should open a Beer Pong Resort....100 tables with a different theme for each table...just like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's ambitious plans for their miniature golf course in "Overboard".Next up: The arrivial of the rest of my crew and the Coors Light party tonight..Last Bengals Dave line: Cardinals by 150 points. (this morning)Updated Bengals Dave line: There will be at least a ten to one fan advantage for the Steelers....that should help alot...Cardinals by 149.5 points.Random Cincinnati/Bengals trivia: So, you think Dick LeBeau is such a good coach? He led the Bengals to 2-14 record in 2002 as the Bengals Head Coach...helluva job, Dick!

Bengals Dave has landed

Greeting from rainy Florida Urban Tailgaters! Looking back, I'm not sure why I deserve this Super Bowl vacation ....either because I beat out thousands of other crazed competitors to win the Coors Light Superfan award....or because I watched another "Bungled" Bengals season...an 0-8 start, a 4-11-1 finish, and an upcoming 6th pick in the NFL draft that I'm sure we'll use wisely...just like we always do. But alas! Hope Springs Eternal! The fact remains I'm here in Florida about to go to the SuperBowl and send you some reports on what tomfoolery and ballyhoo we can get into.... First and foremost, getting down here was a pain...thanks to Delta Airlines...their customer service was awful, their prices even worse...Trying to fly my dad down here via Delta was about as painless as the above said 4-11-1 season! Non compensated advertisement: Fly JetBlue! They are much nicer, and cheaper, and they have those Blue Terra Chips:) You know the ones.... So yesterday I got into Orlando greeted by steady (sometimes bordering monsoon) rains! It was as if I was being haunted by the ghosts of Bengals past who were punishing me for going to my first Super Bowl not featuring my beloved Bengals but the hated Steelers....So with my Bengals sweatshirt (with sleeves cut off ala Belichick), Bengals polo, Bengals socks, and Orange New Balance shoes, I settled into the Thrifty rental car shuttle next to a very serious looking Steelers fan with a strong jaw and yellow and black outfit...think a poor mans Bill Cowher...i threw caution to the wind and tried to make conversation, to which the man either was deaf or in trance but he stared straight ahead...although i did have a wonderful conversation with his wife (they also went to their Super Bowl in Detroit). Picked up the rental car (they inital gave me a MiniVan, but then upgraded me to a Chrysler Sebring), Think Mr. Incredible from the Incredibles....some things just aren't meant to fit...i checked into our Hotel, the World's Biggest Marriott in Orlando...(which begs the question, why are we staying in Orlando?) The games an hour away, more on that in a later blog, the more it becomes annoying... Picked my pops up from the airport....and drove a couple hours down to Venice, FL to visit an old family friend (and that's where I'm blogging right now).... So, Day 1= just fine, I'm in Florida, it's still raining, the Steelers are still f-ing here (can we get a substitute team please)...and am heading up to Orlando for a day of father-son competition including Pirate's Cove miniature golf (sidearm beers always acceptable) rain or shine!!!! Up next for tonight: The Coors Light Party featuring Nelly (bandaid rapper, not Furtado), the arrival of my bodyguard from the Vegas Finals (and partner in crime) Shelton, and a check in with our Ybor City correspondent Jason Rocco (Who is trying to mooch the entire Super Bowl trip:) God bless him.... Early Bengals Dave Vegas line= Cardinals by 150 points..... Daily random Bengals/Cincinnati Trivia: Did you know Troy Polamalu was Carson Palmers roommate at USC. Some would say that's why he can read quarterbacks so well...he learned from the best!
